Alvie Spurlock
Gameplay and Tools Programmer specializing in C++, Unreal Engine, AI behavior, and systems design. I am completing a B.S. in Computer Science (Game Development) at Full Sail University and am a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. I develop systems‑driven games through Mad Tea Party Development, a studio built around family‑centered values, consistent production practices, and a design philosophy focused on belonging and accessibility. My work emphasizes reliable engineering, modular systems, and player‑first functionality. My solo project Scorchlet is a creature‑raising game that received coverage from the Odessa American. I designed and implemented the AI behavior system, modular minigame framework, UI, and core gameplay loops. I also co‑develop Drake Forged, a tactical RPG, where I built NPC AI, settlement systems, dialogue logic, and UI layouts. My interest in game development began in childhood, shaped by characters who provided comfort and adventure during quiet afternoons. The “Mad Hatter” nickname given to me by my wife became the foundation for Mad Tea Party Development and informs the tone and identity of the studio. As a husband and father, I maintain a disciplined, production‑focused workflow and prioritize consistent delivery, ownership of responsibilities, and strong engineering practices. I seek opportunities to contribute to teams that value collaboration, technical problem‑solving, and high‑quality gameplay systems.
